Spam from chuq.net?

Starting 23rd November 2005, a spammer has been sending out many, many emails through open mail relays with the From: header using an address at this domain. eg. Kenya.Davies@chuq.net, Natasha.Cummins@chuq.net, Ramon.Hobbs@chuq.net. I wont dignify the spammer by showing their crap here. If you got it, you know it.

chuq.net is in no way associated with the spam you may have received. Please dont complain to chuq.net or our host/network provider about this problem, we're all victims. As of 29th November, about 1000 of these spams had bounced back to chuq.net because the recipient address was unreachable. Just think of how many were sent sucessfully!

If you want to do something constructive, report the open mail relay used to send this spam to a relay blocking service. You can find the open mail relay used by looking at the headers (extended headers) to see the path the mail took.

Items in blue show the victims - the intended recipient of the spam (spam.victim@example.com) and the fake addresses made up by the spammer (Ramon.Hobbs@chuq.net).

Items in red show the problem - open relays which allow spammers to use their servers to send spam. The last 1 or 2 Received: headers show the open mail relays, they are accepting all this spam and forwarding it to the net.

Report those IP addresses to the relay blocking people.
